Joe is a Research Associate Professor at the University of Otago, Christchurch, where he has worked on the Christchurch Health and Development Study since 2005. He received his PhD in experimental social psychology from Case Western Reserve University (USA) in 1995. His research interests are in psychiatric epidemiology, and in particular the epidemiology of substance use and mental health. Joe serves as the biostatistician for the Youth Pathways and Transitions project.
